mission

We are a group of Logan residents who live, work, shop, play and invest in the Logan Circle area in large part because of the locally-owned, independent businesses that have helped create a unique and creative environment unlike any other. We are committed to helping this neighborhood thrive and still retain its current identity.

what's going on?

The large building on the SW corner of 14th and T is for sale with competitive bidders, which is the good news. One bidder is a group of DC residents proposing an amazing combination of a Tryst-like diner, a "micro-theater", yoga studio and a comedy club (backed by DC-native Dave Chapelle). The second bidder is furniture retailer Room & Board, and unfortunately the seller of the building is currently under contract with them. We believe that adding a locally owned comedy club, theatre and diner is a better use of the space and that introducing a large, national chain like Room & Board would be a substantial blow to the momentum of the neighborhood. Room & Board might be a wonderful anchor in a number of locations in DC, but Logan Circle is not the place.

call to action

This deal is not final, so if you are interested in keeping our neighborhood local, independent and cool you need to act fast. There are a few things you can do:

1. Tell executives at Room & Board “thanks, but no thanks”. Simply click here to send an email to the John Gabbert, the CEO and Mark Miller, the CFO or call them directly 763.588.7525.

2. Call the building owner, Four Points Investments LLC, at 202.536.5369 to express your preference to have the local, independent businesses move into the space.

3. Get in touch with your ANC commissioner candidates, Doug Rogers and Ramon Estrada and tell them you support local independent businesses and they should too.
